RocTel uses a technology known as SHDSL to provide much higher upstream speeds than are available on DSL services. XPRESS RocTel uses a technology known as ADSL2+ which is capable of doubling the frequency band of typical ADSL connections. This advanced technology allows RocTel to provide much higher data rate speeds to its customers without the need to "contend" the service meaning that customers are not competing with each other for service, as happens with standard ADSL connections.
