Indigenous Irish Trees are essential for mitigating the impact of climate change as they absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and store it in their biomass. In fact, it is estimated that a single tree can store up to 48 pounds of carbon dioxide each year. Therefore, by planting 10,000 trees, ROCTEL is making a significant contribution to reducing carbon emissions and creating a more sustainable future.
ROCTEL works in partnership with the charity Trees on the Land, who have planted over 4,000,000 trees in Ireland to date. This is a commendable example of corporate responsibility towards the environment, as the benefits of planting trees are far-reaching. Not only do they absorb carbon dioxide, but they also provide clean air and water, create habitats for wildlife, and improve the overall health and wellbeing of communities.
The tree planting day brought together members of the community to encourage environmental awareness and teamwork. By working together towards a common goal of creating a sustainable future, ROCTEL and Trees on the Land are making a positive impact on the environment and leaving a legacy for future generations.
