Today, the rise in a cloud‑connected, mobile and remote workforce has put the visibility and control of users and devices outside of the enterprise
Wow it’s been 21 years of building, developing, creating and serving , we can’t believe it has been this long.
It is no wonder the sustainability has been at the core of everything we do. Reflecting on the time that has past, a time that pre dates broadband as a service and marks the beginning of deregulation of the carrier market in Ireland. “ It has been a wonderful journey , says ROCTEL CEO Cormac Reid, from being a start up to now serving enterprise clients, many at the top of their field globally.

Back in November of 2020 we shared news of ROCTEL’s five-year commitment to establish and plan over 10,000 trees in the Wicklow county. On the 16th of April, ROCTEL began planting the first 1000 trees on the ARDEO Sport Horses site. ROCTEL has partnered with the Trees of Land initiative which aims to establish young native Irish trees across the 32 countries of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. These trees will consist of common species, rarer species, naturalized species, and fruit and nut trees.
The first of these trees were Hazel, Hawthorn, Birch and Lime trees. All the preparations were low impact. The trees were put, and notch planted to minimize the soil disturbance and the vegetation was trimmed back to clear ground for planting. All the trees will also be protected during the establishment years with post and wire fencing setting the trees back from the horses. Once the open grown trees mature enough, the wire fencing will be taken down to give the horses the opportunity to make use of shelter and shade. Trees on the Land will make an annual visit in the early years to advise on management and to monitor the progress.

When was the last time you worried about your internet connection? Whether or not you had enough bandwidth to upload a large file to the cloud, download a presentation from a colleague, or stream your favorite show on Netflix? When was the last time you only had one or two Internet Service Provider options, and both were limited somehow? When was the last time you had no access to the internet at all?
For millions of people around the world, unreliable—or completely unavailable—internet service is their reality. They read and hear about blazing fast fiber connections, while wishing they could simply get connected. Some try to find workarounds by utilizing cell phone towers and hotspots, but that can be spotty and data plans are expensive. Others are eagerly anticipating beta invites to join Starlink.
